About the Role

Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES is seeking an experienced and strategic professional to develop, coordinate and expand Early College High School (ECHS) programming as part of a newly developed state-funded CoSer. This role is focused on program design, cross-agency collaboration, and operational management (not direct student services). While experience as a teacher or counselor is highly valued, this position primarily supports districts, colleges, and partners behind the scenes to ensure strong systems and outcomes for students.

The successful candidate will have proven experience implementing new initiatives, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering results. Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to lead through ambiguity are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development & Implementation: Lead the planning, rollout, and evaluation of Early College programs in collaboration with districts, higher education institutions, and workforce partners.
  • Stakeholder & Partnership Management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with school leaders, higher ed institutions, NYSED, and workforce organizations. Navigate varied expectations and align stakeholders toward shared goals.
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee program logistics, including budgeting, scheduling, data collection, grant compliance, and reporting
  • Project Management: Coordinate the successful execution of complex projects across multiple teams and timelines. Anticipate challenges, manage competing priorities, and ensure timely follow-through.
  • System Design & Support: Work with district teams to align curriculum, credentials, and support systems for dual enrollment and early college pathways.
  • Equity & Impact: Support inclusive practices across programs and use data to monitor participation and outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Design and deliver training, resources, and consultative support to school personnel involved in Early College programming.

Job Summary: The Assistive Technology Specialist will leverage their expertise in speech therapy to assess, recommend, and implement assistive technology solutions that support communication and daily living activities for individuals with disabilities. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the effective integration of technology into therapeutic practices.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the assistive technology needs of students with communication disorders.

About the role:

The Instructional Coordinator (ISS–Special Education Data) supports districts, BOCES, and regional partners by providing expertise in special education data analysis, compliance, and software systems. This role involves training and coaching staff, delivering professional development, and assisting with Medicaid and STAC processes. The coordinator will work closely with CSE personnel and administrators to ensure accurate reporting, effective use of technology, and adherence to state and federal requirements. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, the ability to present to varied audiences, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Travel within the EduTech region may be required.

What you’ll do as the Coordinator of Special Education:

  • Must possess the ability to learn and use data software applications effectively and efficiently as well as train others on data software applications.
  • Provide support to CSE personnel through phone and in-person.
  • Create positive relationships with CSE personnel and administrators.
  • Coordinate and provide ongoing staff development opportunities in the district for CSE staff and business administrators.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position exists in a school district and serves as the primary point of contact for the Director of Human Resources.  The incumbent is tasked with performing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office, including the logistics involved in managing the Director’s calendar, supporting administrative tasks and projects. The incumbent in this position is required to have a good understanding of the objectives of the human resources function, and the need to perform responsible and complex duties requiring a high degree of accuracy. The work involves constant public contact, often dealing with sensitive and complex problems related to human resources functions such as hiring, discipline, termination, benefits, equal employment opportunities and labor relations. In addition to clerical responsibilities, the incumbent would be expected to learn, apply and answer questions concerning the more routine aspects of the various contractual bargaining agreements, laws, rules, policies and procedures of a school district human resources office.  Supervision may be exercised over subordinate clerical help.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

  • Onboards new employees with respect to benefits, rights and obligations and answers questions concerning health insurance, unemployment insurance, retirement benefits, and other employee benefits; 
  • Enters data, completes and processes various forms, documents and reports, and maintains complex files, records and computer systems related to human resources functions;
  • Answers routine questions from all sources regarding employment policies, practices, opportunities, procedures, rights, benefits and obligations of employees and prospective employees;
  • Provides support to the Director of Human Resources in such activities as compiling files, arranging logistics, and maintaining spreadsheets of activities within the process;
  • Prepares job postings and organizes hiring materials;
  • Prepares reports using computer-based applications to create spreadsheets;
  • Performs basic business math functions relative to calculating leave, benefits, seniority credits, salary, and purchase order requisitions, and maintains the department expense reports;
  • Prepares original correspondence on a variety of human resources topics and types letters, memos and other correspondence as assigned by a supervisor;
  • Collects data regarding appointments, promotions, terminations, layoffs, pay rates, etc., and posts such data to appropriate forms and documents;
  • May assist in the civil service process, including canvassing certificates of eligibles; answering questions;
  • Completes special projects as assigned.

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with the Director of School Library System, school districts and multiple W-FL BOCES/EduTech departments to  provide support & assistance to member school libraries & school library staff
  • Develop and implement system services and technology support to meet the needs of member school libraries and districts
  • Support the School Library System and component districts by offering advisement in areas related to school libraries, such as but not limited to, the best instructional practices, copyright, programming, and collection development
  • Strengthen the School Library System by assisting in the creation of marketing, promotional and advocacy materials through various avenues, including social media
  • Support the School Library System with e-content collection development and assisting by collecting usage data for these platforms
