This position is posted for the 2020-21 school year and applicants will only be reviewed as requests for services come in for this position throughout the year.  Applicants will only be contacted when a position becomes available.

Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

This position will:

  • Collaborate with educators and therapists on multi-disciplinary teams regarding recommendations and modifications
  • Communicate with families on a regular basis
  •  Work with school and community organizations; CSE, Commission for the Blind, vendors, resource agencies, etc.
  • Communicating with eye doctors and offices to monitor vision
  • Instruct students in Braille Code
  • Create meaningful content and experiences for children with multiple disabilities including cortical vision impairment or other conditions
  • Perform Functional Vision Evaluations and Learning Media Assessments
  • Maintain knowledge of available technology to use and teach students 
  • Have the knowledge and ability to learn and teach life specific skills from the Expanded Core Curriculum for students with vision impairments
  • Perform duties, as assigned

Library Media Specialist

This position will support a component school district and Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES
