Teacher Aide, FLSS

Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES is hiring Teacher Aides to support students across our Special Education programs throughout the region. This is meaningful, hands-on work where your presence truly matters every single day.

As a Teacher Aide, you’ll play a critical role in helping students learn, grow, and succeed by providing individualized support in a structured, team-based school environment.

Teacher Aides are often the steady, trusted adults our students rely on most. Our aides provide 1:1 support, helping students navigate academics, social-emotional learning, and daily routines. If you’re patient, caring, and looking for work with purpose this could be the role for you.

Work Schedule & Benefits

  • 6 hours per day
  • 10-month position following the school calendar (evenings, holidays, and summers off!) with option to work during summer school
  • Hourly Pay Rate of $16.00 – $18.35 (dependent on experience)

What You’ll Do

As a Teacher Aide, you will:

  • Support students individually or in small groups under the direction of a certified teacher
  • Assist students with academic tasks, social skills, and daily routines
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
  • Implement behavior support plans and follow established routines
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Assist with transitions, mobility, and personal care as needed
  • Training is provided — you do not need classroom experience to apply.

  • Willingness to complete required training (including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention)
  • Ability to perform physical aspects of the role when needed
