Wayne Education Center, a specialized school serving students with disabilities, is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Consultant Teacher to join our team. The Consultant Teacher will provide push-in support within general education content area classrooms to assist students with IEPs in accessing the curriculum. This role requires working closely with many content area teachers to plan, adapt, and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs of students.

What you'll do:

  • Provide direct push-in instructional support to students with disabilities within general education content classrooms (e.g., ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies).
  • Collaborate with content area teachers to co-plan and co-deliver differentiated instruction that aligns with IEP goals and curriculum standards.
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials, assessments, and teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Implement IEP accommodations and modifications in classroom settings.
  • Support classroom behavior management and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain data to inform instruction and IEP reporting.
  • Participate in CSE meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Serve as a liaison between special education and general education staff to promote effective communication and collaboration.
