Speech Therapist, NEC, Newark, NY

Salary Range: $48,932 - $56,736, based on experience and demonstrated abilities. Benefits include paid holidays & leave time, NYS retirement, and health & dental insurance

Depending on location, this position may involve direct work with students with autism, emotional and/or developmental disabilities which may include, but are not limited to, oppositional and aggressive behaviors; mood disorders; and potentially severe and unpredictable physical and/or verbal outbursts. Therapists are expected to:

• Ability to work with a diverse population of students.

• Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to learning

. • Provide specialized instruction to students with emotional and learning disabilities.

• Collaborate with colleagues and provide resources to meet student learning needs.

• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents.

• Record and report student progress.

Depending on location, this position may involve direct work with students with autism, emotional and/or developmental disabilities which may include, but are not limited to, oppositional and aggressive behaviors; mood disorders; and potentially severe and unpredictable physical and/or verbal outbursts. Teaching Assistants provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher and complete related work as required. The duties of this position may require specific skills and abilities based on the students’ needs and/or program, including but not limited to:

• Ability to work with a diverse population of students.

• Support students to ensure a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.

• Implement specialized instruction to students with emotional and learning disabilities.

• Collaborate with colleagues and assist teacher to meet student learning needs.

• Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.

• Assist students with daily living skills (dressing, toileting, feeding, etc.), as applicable

• Assist with maintaining record keeping.

Attend staff meetings and trainings.

• Promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.

School Psychologist NEC, Newark, NY

Depending on location, this position may involve direct work with students with autism, emotional

behaviors; mood disorders; and potentially severe and unpredictable physical and/or verbal 
outbursts. School Psychologists are expected to:


•  Ability to work with a diverse population of students.
•  Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and 
   learning.
•  Provide targeted interventions to teach social, emotional, behavioral regulation.
•  Provide group and/or individual counseling using evidence-based interventions.
•  Conduct initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and Functional Behavior Assessments.
•  Develop, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans and crisis management 
   plans.
•  Collaborate and consult with community-based providers, parents, component districts, colleagues 
   and provide resources to meet student learning needs.
•  Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.
•  Record and report student progress.
