Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

This position will:

  • Collaborate with educators and therapists on multi-disciplinary teams regarding recommendations and modifications
  • Communicate with families on a regular basis
  •  Work with school and community organizations; CSE, Commission for the Blind, vendors, resource agencies, etc.
  • Communicating with eye doctors and offices to monitor vision
  • Instruct students in Braille Code
  • Create meaningful content and experiences for children with multiple disabilities including cortical vision impairment or other conditions
  • Perform Functional Vision Evaluations and Learning Media Assessments
  • Maintain knowledge of available technology to use and teach students 
  • Have the knowledge and ability to learn and teach life specific skills from the Expanded Core Curriculum for students with vision impairments
  • Perform duties, as assigned

This is a tenure track position

Manager Technical Support Team

EduTech is seeking a technology leader whose strengths include customer focused problem resolution and strong communication and interpersonal skills to join our management team based in Newark, NY. The manager is responsible for the planning and management of daily operations for approximately 50 staff technicians involved in installation and support of networks, servers, workstations, and mobile devices.  The manager will interact with internal teams, vendors, and school district personnel. 

Additional accountabilities of the position are:

  • oversight of the Help Desk
  • coordination of team research and development
  • advancement of long-range plans and strategic direction, in alignment with organizational strategy

Successful candidate will have:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with emotional and learning disabilities.
  • Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.
  • Record and report student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and provide resources to meet student learning needs.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of students.
