Salary Range: $20.80 - $22.97 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated abilities. Benefits include paid holidays & leave time, NYS retirement, and health & dental insurance.

What you'll do:
• Have the ability to work with a diverse population of students.
• Support students to ensure a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.
• Implement specialized instruction for students with emotional and learning disabilities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and assist teachers to meet student learning needs.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.
• Assist students with daily living skills (dressing, toileting, feeding, etc.), as applicable.
• Assist with maintaining record keeping.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.
Based on the site where you are placed, site-specific job details are as follows:
Special Education Sites (FLSS, MEC, NEC, RJEC, WEC) - This position may involve direct work with students with autism, emotional and/or developmental disabilities which may include, but are not limited to, oppositional and aggressive behaviors; mood disorders; and potentially severe and unpredictable physical and/or verbal outbursts. Teaching Assistants provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher and complete related work as required. The duties of this position may require specific skills and abilities based on the students’ needs and/or program, including but not limited to:
Non-Special Education Sites (FLTCC, PTECH, WTCC) - Essential elements of the position may require specialized knowledge and/or experience in the field and/or trade subject. Depending on the course, there may be a requirement for successful completion of specialized training and/or safety certifications.
