Job Description:
• The Instructional Coordinator of Staff Development Training will assist and guide W-FL BOCES component districts and BOCES
schools in initiatives for curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Assisting and guiding the component districts within Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES on curriculum,
instruction and assessment tailored to individual students’ strengths and needs
• Demonstrating a strong understanding of the NYS Learning Standards
• Coordinating and providing regional professional development opportunities based on current
trends in the field and needs identified from the region
• In conjunction with the Director of Staff Development, meet with leaders from districts to
create a plan of work and deliverables for time in the district
• Leading curriculum mapping and design projects, including curriculum audits
• Facilitating groups comprised of various stakeholders
• Assisting districts with local assessment creation, implementation, and data analysis to target
instruction
• Analyzing NYS testing results (grades 3-8 and Regents) and providing support to districts on how
to understand and use the results
• Supporting coordination of regional scoring for grades 3-8 and Regents state
assessments
• Providing instructional coaching support to teachers
• Staying current with state and regional initiatives and communicating this work to
districts
• Researching and presenting on various pedagogical philosophies
• Attending regional and statewide professional development opportunities to strengthen
work
• Performing such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Staff Development as deemed
necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
Job Qualifications:
• NYS Teacher Certification
• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience
• Training in Restorative Practices
• Strong background in special education: designing lessons, writing IEPs, differentiating instruction
• Demonstrated experience implementing research-based instructional strategies that foster strong Tier 1 learning for all students
• Preference will be given to candidates who have literacy experience grounded in the Science of Reading
Candidates should possess a broad skill set of effective leadership skills including, but not limited to:
• Experience with coaching and/or demonstrated teacher-leader experience
• Experience with leading school-wide initiatives
• Experience with personalizing learning to meet the needs of all learners
• Strong knowledge of NYS Learning Standards, curriculum support strategies, data analysis processes
• Strong knowledge and experience implementing Restorative Practices
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent management and organizational skills.
• Ability to Promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.
This position requires travel throughout W-F L BOCES component districts including overnight
travel to statewide and national conferences
