Position: 1.00 FTE Consultant Teacher (Special Education)

Location: W-FL BOCES as assigned

Salary Range: $51,163 - $60,059, based on experience and demonstrated abilities.

What you'll do:

  • Provide direct push-in instructional support to students with disabilities within general education content classrooms (e.g., ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies).
  • Collaborate with content area teachers to co-plan and co-deliver differentiated instruction that aligns with IEP goals and curriculum standards.
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials, assessments, and teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Implement IEP accommodations and modifications in classroom settings.
  • Support classroom behavior management and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain data to inform instruction and IEP reporting.
  • Participate in CSE meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Serve as a liaison between special education and general education staff to promote effective communication and collaboration.

Serve as case manager for assigned students

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Special Education preferred.
  • Certification: Valid NYS Students with Disabilities Certification (Grades K-12 or 7-12).
  • Experience: Previous experience working with students with disabilities
  • Strong understanding of IEP implementation, differentiated instruction, and co-teaching models. Past success in a specialized setting similar to WEC.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of students with diverse learning needs.
