Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is expected to:
• Ability to work with a diverse population of students.
• Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.
• Collaborate and consult with school organizations, community organizations, therapists, doctors, colleagues, parents regarding recommendations, modifications, and provide resources to meet student learning needs
• Assist with troubleshooting of amplification equipment and other necessary software.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.
• Record and report student progress.

NYS Certification as Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing-Impaired. Required proficiency in Sign Language.
Candidates should possess a broad skill set of effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels including, but not limited to:
• Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments
• Knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction.
• Knowledge of up to date, available technology to use and teach students.
• Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, formulation of action plans
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Promoting equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.
Ability to travel between W-FL BOCES sites and component districts in this role shared between component school districts and/or Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES programs.
